Tenant Engagement
Holds workshops on Tenants Rights with the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland. The committee is building a network of tenant leaders and a directory of residents. Working with Cleveland Housing Court and city officials, Morelands Group educates and activates tenants to gain their rights under the Landlord-Tenant Law.

Beautification
Sponsors regular clean-ups within the corridor, and beautification of Helen Simpson Park. The group works with city leaders to plan and implement infrastructure improvements including donations of plants and park benches at Helen Simpson Park.

Owner Engagment
Brings together beneficial apartment owners who know that property upkeep and beautification are keys to good property values. The committee was awarded a Cuyahoga County grant to upgrade property security in the corridor.

Building Code Compliance
Works to tackle emergency conditions in apartment buildings and has identified more than 30 severely neglected apartment buildings. To increase the code enforcement, the committee convenes regular meetings with Cleveland Building and Housing officials.

Safety and Security
Works closely with the Fourth District Police as well as residents and building owners to bring enhanced safety resources to the apartment corridor.

Provides publicly available data and information about building code compliance, health and safety issues, and court activity.
